Touching the sublime on Route 8
I’ve got a good one for you, I think.
So a couple hours ago, I’m heading back home from the day’s freelancing engagement. There’s a light but steady snow, and the road has enough slush built up that caution is definitely warranted. I’m proceeding accordingly, though enjoying a CD, Jane Jensen‘s my rockabye. (Yes I still use CDs.)
And shortly after I’ve left the office, the lights of a police car draw my eyes to an accident on the other side of the divider. It appears to be a double rear-ending; the unfortunate middle driver’s car was noticeably crumpled at both front and back.
And right at that instant, out of the speakers comes this line from “L.A. Junkyard:”
Slooow down or you’ll crash haaaard, ohhhh yeah.
This life does have its moments.
